Body aches and pains, we have all had them. How do these injuries occur? How do we prevent them?
Injuries happen when our bodies can no longer withstand or adapt to the stress that we place on our bodies. It’s like bending a pencil, it can withstand the stress for only so long before it snaps, an injury has occurred. Poor postural habits can not be sustained for long duration’s.
The body can withstand the physical stress for short periods, but will eventually fatigue. If we continue to repeat this over time, the body will fail. It can no longer take the strain and the result is an injury, aches and pains.
Can your body withstand the stress?
During daily movements and in particular activities and sports, lots of physical stress is placed on the body. Keeping fit and healthy ensures our bodies can withstand this stress. Chiropractic
facilitates the body to work at its best. This is similar to vitamin C strengthening your immune system, so you don’t suffer from coughs and colds. It allows our bodies to withstand a greater stress before breaking point, an injury. It does this by optimising the spinal biomechanics to promote maximum function of the body.
Many sports men and women use chiropractic to prevent injuries and be
at their best, to name a few:
Golf: Jordan Speith, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
Tennis: Andy Murray, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic
Olympics: Usain Bolt and Mo Farah
Body building: Arnold Schwarzenegger
We are not all sports celebrities but we can all transform our health, be at our best and prevent injuries.
